Optimum Staffing Solutions Inc. is looking for a Maintenance Planner with experience in the manufacturing industry. The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labour, parts and material, and equipment access.

Job plans created by the Maintenance Planner are intended to ensure or extend the life expectancy of equipment therefore aiding in the total reduction of maintenance cost and increased output of product.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and maintaining liaison between Operations and Maintenance, the planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordination of all plannable maintenance work performed within the facility. The planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters and KPI’s.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare work packages for all planned maintenance activities inclusive of preventative maintenance.
  • Order, receive and supervise required material to assist maintenance activities.
  • Sourcing and procurement of maintenance items as required.
  • Maintaining Maintenance inventory area(s) with required stock.
  • Establish min/max stock levels for critical spares and PM supplies.
  • Coordinate daily as well as weekly planning meetings related with departments needs and prioritize accordingly.
  • Assist in the development and upkeep of a Preventative/ Predictive Maintenance program (Pdm).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with outside contractors as required.
  • Coordinate to rebuild/repair spare equipment through external suppliers as required.
  • Collect drawings, manuals and other documents to assist contractor and maintenance repairs or modifications.
  • Provide assistance for the least amount production downtime as required.
  • Support department’s compliance to any Lean Manufacturing/5s goals and objectives.
  • Provide assistance to engineering for spare parts preparation and PM Lists for new equipment.
  • Provide technical assistance for supporting entire on-site maintenance activities.
  • Support proactively all H&S, HACCP procedures and policies.
