Job Overview
The Electrician works as part of a Maintenance Team in a fast-paced flexible packaging plastics manufacturing facility.
This position involves a combination of troubleshooting, preventive and predictive maintenance to solve issues and make repairs. Documentation and Teamwork are critical to success in this role.

Your Key Responsibilities:
- Operate within a multi-skilled environment to maintain the plant’s machinery and equipment, while improving processes to minimize disruption to the production lines
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment in accordance with standardized procedures
- Maintain all electrical and mechanical maintenance records.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, including PLC and motor controls, safety sensors and relays
- Installation, troubleshooting and upgrading of industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Practice safe work habits. Comply with all applicable legislative and Client’s health and safety, food safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
- Ensure that work area is always clean of debris and hazards and check work area for such hazards upon arrival and when departing each area of work.
- Interact with all employees in a positive manner and promote safe and co-operative working environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:
- 2 to 5 years' industrial, electrical experience.
- Red Seal Electrician License(442A OR 309A).
- Strong problem-solving skills related to troubleshooting equipment issues, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional team members.
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and working conditions.
- The successful candidate must me flexible to work after hours as needed to resolve breakdown issues.
- Previous experience working in a 24/7 Plastics manufacturing environment
- Sound understanding of industrial controls networks and industrial drives.
